Vera Whelan taught me Irish from 1976 to 1979. Looking back now I have to admire her for delivering so well such boring, irrelevant course material to a bunch of disruptive, ignorant gobshites with absolutely no interest in learning. If Ms Whelan is still enduring that finishing school for young gentlemen, well I have to congratulate her on her dedication to her job. If not I will take this opportunity to wish her a long and healthy retirement because she thoroughly deserves it.
Brilliant lady, very helpful and caring, gets abuse cos she's so nice but when you actually pay attention to her she'll help you get an A1
vera is a legend pure buzzer and she can teach but everyone jus intrupts her so she doesnt bother
A good teacher, but youd want to get your homework done
From the Class of 76 she was one of the better one's
Loved your classes, enjoyed my time at school because of teacers like you 1982
Give Vera a break! A hard working teacher. Good sense of humour unless ur disruptive.
Sweet Gal. I new less Irish after 5 years in Greenhills than when I entered it. Vera was stunned to hear we new conditional tense. Soon forgot it and most Irish I ever learned.
a pretty uninspiring teacher, but never had a problem with her. i saw the odd glimmer of enthusiasm for the subject from her, should show it more
I like the woman a lot, she tried her best and stil has me ag caint, go minic
had vera for geography in late 80's got B in Honours Paper , excellent teacher gave a lot of homework but was worth with, thanks Vera.
"Always laughing and joking and messing. I wouldn't mind if you were good at Irish but you're one of the worst in the class!" How many people heard that?
john lennon had a great traditional irish voice. not the best teacher i had . but it was irish so i never listened
Had good craic with her. She would love to teach a group of interested students. But Irish is tough to generate enthusiasm for. VEEERA.
