A very good principal: srict and fair. The locAL community really grew up around a progressive school
A fantastic principal ,great vision, pride in the school and a man on top of his profession. Pehaps taken for granted.- Donegal Fencer
the man never knew me in the 5 years i was there but have to say he ran coolmine with pride and gave the school a really good name. what has happened to the school now though? not a great school i believe, why???
A Class Act.... a principal should be trying to create a school of acheivers, We were there for an education and he certainly ensured we got that!
A legend, yes. A household name, yes. And very outdated in his ideas about the ethos, the uniforms and - dare I say it - the Irish "language". Still, he ran the school flawlessly and was fairly progressive on religious ideas.
Don't think I'm in a position to 'rate' him as of yet. He had presence, the requisite authority, and in Italy during TY he was very much at ease with us.
great man, we felt his presence!, never felt any disrespect from the man!! dont know how he managed to stay so cheerful and it must have got harder as the years went on , a legend
This man is a Saint - hardest worker i know. Worked like a working man for Coolmine. He should be proud
OB is a legend. Strick as hell but still a legend - A gentlemen, a gentle giant one might say. And clever too - best principal we could ever have had!
Staff and pupilsknew where they stood with this man. He worked tirelessly for this school since 1972. Super job over all the years.
Was in the wrong job, treated students with the greatest of disrespect unless they were intelligent
in fairness to the man he ran the school brilliantly had everyone petrified of him....also knew ur name if asked
Mr OB unfortunatly not replaced by sum1 nearly as good as himself, I loved him always talking 2 da pupils and knew every1 by name, unlike Salmon.
Famous for taking the side of his favourites . You know who you are .
