Always got the class to just memorise huge chunks of text so that we could get points in the JC or LC but in reality, I ended up not understanding Irish at all because it was only a case of memorising her work, not being able to construct our own sentences. I can't have a basic conversation now in Irish because she wasn't bothered to teach for the sake of giving her students a skill, only for the sake of passing exams so that her stats stay high.
REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEATSTOP REPEATING YOURSELF.
She's my year head. She's pretty sound :) but she's strict when she needs to be. I like her as my year head though :)
Ms Gannon thank god you are there,we'll sleep well knowing that there are teachers like you looking out for your students. You're the best teacher i ever had and you listend to me when no-one else did
One of the best teachers in the school of a select few. Despite all the notes if you do the required & learn her notes you'll do well - guaranteed!
NO TALKING! DO YOU? DO YOU? DO YOU? come on that is no way to teach a class even mr mconnel is better than that
In hindsight a really really good teacher. I much prefered her for history but then again it was a whole lot easier than Irish.
10 years later, Ms G was a tough, good and thorough teacher. I had good and bad experiences, but overall I was motivated by fear. I went from no Irish to a C+ in the LC. Go Sandra!
ice queen in the classroom, really nice otherwise. incredibly easy to cheat in her class though.....maybe it was just me then....
lovely woman - strict cos she's cares. puts too much work in though - she doesn't get back what she puts in. hope she's doing well!
SO STRICT IT'S INTIMIDATING BUT NICE OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM!!
I had ms gannon for history 4 JC and Irish 4 sixth. Incredibly intimidating but means well! Learn EVERYTHING off by heart and ull get by, thats her motto!
. She is only strict cos she has to be. She puts in so much effort to her classes and it shows in the results.
she is the best teacher i have ever had but is so strict . what ever you subject with her you are going to get an a+
I had a dream about her. It was the day of my jc irish exam and she was telling me how disgraceful i am. The thought of her still reduces me to tears.
Does she want us to answer her when she says. Is it...Is it...Is it? or Do you...Do you...Do you? YES WE DO!!!!!
so strict and cruel but i learnt loads of irish.too scary.
Newsflash S Gannon - it's your job to work! The two go together by definition. Bad attitude!
I tot she was mean when i had her in 2nd, but now in 4th she is 1 of my fav teachers even if i don't have her 4 any subjects.
Best Teacher in the school. Does lots of work for her students. If you work in her class you will get good grades. S Gannon
all i have to say is..... do you, DO YOU, DO YOU??!!
she was a true bohemian, very witty, had a smile that could melt an ice berg, and was a stunning woman, oh and not a bad teacher either.
Only pretends to be mean. Cares about us more than any other teacher. Adorable!
I remember having this teacher for junior cert. history.i was so scared of her.got a good mark tho and was interested to this day in history.good all round.
should not change tone of voice 2 much in 1 sentence. she should calm down
sometimes a little scary but deep down a nice teacher
While studying for the Junior Cert, I was petrified of this woman but, in the end, I got an A. As a 6th year, she is now civil and still a good teacher.
Had a laugh in her class but not because of her. Asked one of the students once whether his locker was going to sit his Junior Cert for him. Legendary!
liked her so much i took a grinds class with her! strictness is a front. shes a pet. really wanted us to do well. great sense of naughty humour 2! thanx sandra!
She repeats things over and over but she does make sure that you know the work.
She gets results but fails sums up everything that is wrong with the teaching of the Irish language. I can't remember a word of irish now.
Strict but fair, will not tolerate messing but rewards hard work by becoming nicer.
a nice woman, can be over-strict at times but very dedicated.she spends hours photocopying
Got the results - even from the students who hated Irish. Did her job well, bottom line. Perhaps a little intimidated by us lads at times - apologies!
Extremely strict she treats her students as if they're inferior to her.very unclear about instructions.
