He was a good teacher to the strong, the stronger you were the more he liked you. No time for lesser abilities. Worked off fear a bit in class

I had Mr Murphy for honors Maths most of my time in chanel.
Without a doubt the best maths teacher ever. I finished in chanel in 1997 but listening to my kids now talk about their maths teachers puts it all in perspective. I have often taught to myself, if my kids had this teacher they would breeze through Maths like I did with the help of Mr Murphy.

Murph is wasted in Chanel.His talents would be appreciated in Manor house or st Paul's.You wouldnt expect Alex Ferguson to manage Raheny united.Murph is a fantastic professional, top man.

A clever man who was a good teacher to bright maths students.Not the best with weaker students, though. Was very dismissive of other subjects. Maths and English were all you needed.

Good with the economics and maths. Knows his stuff but is a bit scary. OK, well more than a bit. Definately organised and dedicated though.

Uncomfortable class to be in. Good teacher but creates uncomfortable atmosphere. Really have to work if you want to succeed.
