He failed to teach me successfully. I should have listened and would have learned so much at Marian College! He did however teach punctuality to me. Years later I deal with Sir Paul Meany (to me) through my work. I have the height of respect for Paul. Fantastic teachers. A real challenge for the staff to handle so many complex behavioural issues stemming from students' issues at home. A model school for student interaction with all social classes. The way life is after school.
Deeply insightful and kind. He was one of the grooviest guys ever and his introduction to biology fascinated me to this day. His knowledge on this area of science is first class if not inspirational. In 1980 I thought he was God, he had a powerful presence about him and truth is, I was scared of him when there was no reason to because I believed he was in fact God in disguise, playing the part of a Biology teacher. He answered any questions with ease. I still think he is God.
always listen a pity his oulad was not the same what we have is a special pet, here always listen in an IMPOVERISHED COLLEGE
mr meany is a great guy whenever i was in trouble he would always listen too what i had to say ,acts strict in the corridors but is an absolute gent in the office ,all round great guy
"When I am old and grey and full of sleep.." (W.B. Yeats) I will still remember this man. I.C.
Had him for Biology. A sound man.... made more of an impression on me later when I met him as a past pupil.
ah paul is the man, always has his heart in the right place when it comes to marian college
True he cares about A students and students that try hard. Why should he waste his time on people who dont wanna do well? He runs the school well and his 1 of d top principals in d country.
he thinks he is fair but he is out of touch and hasn't a clue - loves interviewing wrong doers in his office and takes sides before seeing all the facts
kinda biast me... played basketball!, never forget had him for maths coverin for some1else.. thought a whole class, realised he was doin the wrong thing, laughed about it,.. legend
From will-o-the wisp to catcher in the rye and full of bad mathematic jokes, a great maths teacher, great supporter of the school and I have all the time in world for him.
tough job! some one got to do it! hung with the wrong crowd so he knew my name! sorted me out with a calculator when i forgot it for maths p2! sound!
SORRY EXCUSE ME INCIDENTLY! THE MAN IS A SUPREME LEGEND!I LOVE YOU MR MEANY
Cannot understand all the positive ratings. They certainly didn't come from my classmates. Only cared for the 'A' streams.

Meany is a former student, and didn't forget what being a student was like. You will always get a fair hearing, and what you deserve. Memorable maths classes!
mr meany,he helped me so much repeating last year, your a lovely man,and thank you.very fair and understanding, makes jokes.
Investigated 'incidents' like a detective. Very fair, helpful man who got the balance between respect/fear/friendliness spot on.
Meany was a great principal, and always took into consideration that there was two sides to every story.
Mean jean was a great principal and very good maths teacher. Nice guy all round.
