Imo Paul was my best teacher at St Vincents , 40 no and still remember the definitions haha
This guys nickname was 'God' and for good reason. He was one of the most knowledgeable teachers around. Decisive, clear and one of those teachers, with that rare quality, that you would always remember him with respect. Fair play to you Mr Cooke. 20 years later and I still remember you as one of the finest teachers I ever had.
this guy was amazing just love teaching and passing his knowledge on to others...could have taught at 3rd level or and some high paying school but didn't because he taught it was fair to give disadvantage kids a good education. I remember when we'd do maths with him...every one would pay attention even the lads who clearly needed another form of education that schooling system fails to provide! Long live Mr. cooke and his philosophies! a REAL hero.
Quite simply the greatest teacher in vincents, He should be a college lecturer and i owe getting were i am today to him he gave me my love for physics :)
Without doubt one of the best teachers in Vincents. Total understanding of the subject and really good at explaining things. Gave me a love of Maths. Quite strict and could come off a little impersonal.
Paul Cooke was my maths and science teacher and year head for a time. It was only when I left St Vincents C.b.s I really realized how much I messed up and regret not being more attentive and soaking up more of what Paul was teaching. It might suprise Paul now that despite bad grades in maths and science my doing not Pauls I went on to become an Electrician and then a Telecom s engineer both jobs requiring good maths and science. Paul thank you for giving me an intrest in maths and science.NO'C
AS I sat down to my Inter Cert Science exam, 1982/3.. He said to me "There is still time to pass Mr O'Gorman, mark my words, you can do it". He was right. Thanks Paul.
one of the few good teachers in Vincents, the rest could learn from him!

Well! I made a cry for help to this man when i was being taught by him and it fell on deaf ears. I know well why he has never made it to Prinicpal. The man is a machine and not human.
A great teacher wouldnt have made it to college if it wasnt for him. The best teacher/lecturer i have come across by a mile.
A PROPER TEACHER. FAILED MY FIRST EVER EXAM BY HIM IN FIRST YEAR SCIENCE. CAME DOWN ON ME OVER IT- HAVE NOT FAILED AN EXAM SINCE ! NOW COMPLETING MY PHD
Mr. Cooke was a great Teacher. I had him for Leaving Cert . Physics. He treated us all like adults and earned our respect.
My most influential teacher when I was at St. Vincents in the late 70's. I am a research scientist in Silicon Valley thanks to him.
I still have fond memories of Mr. Cooke, a great teacher and commanded respect from everyone. I am a doctor today thanks to this man, my only regret is no saying thank you.

Brilliant Maths teacher. had him from '86-'91. Could teach the others a thing or two.
Had him for Physics, a very unique teacher, tough but very fair, got an A1 in leaving.
Paul Cooke tried his best with me for years. Don't think I really appreciated it until later. His physics classes were fantastic.
The man is a genius, always thought & teached in a logical way. Commanded respect from his class.

I had him for Maths in the early 80s top guy... good teacher
Had him for Phyics from '82-'84. Best teacher ever. Got an A in Hons. like many in the class. Studied Physics in 3rd Level and am now working in Science thanks to this man.AGK
Mr Cooke is a good teacher. These profiles make him out to be the second coming. He wasnt. He was the best of a bad bunch. It is easy for him to stay put and get praise. My hero.
I wanted to do well in Physics in my Leaving for Mr. Cooke. He was the best teacher I have ever had. He instilled confidence in us.
I had him for Physics for the LC. The man is a gifted teacher who makes his students feel like adults. He puts effort into teaching all his pupils, not just the gifted few.
The most talented teacher in the school by miles. He nearly convinced me it would be cool to be a physicist. I have to thank this man personally for where I am today
Definitions!! Wow, he scared me but he was easily the most gifted teacher in the school (I left in 83). I still remember the last time he spoke to us before the Leaving. Thank you.
Paul Cooke is the man who launched 1000+ carreers in Science, engineering and technology, including mine twenty years ago. Great to see that he's still held in the highest regard
Had "Cookie from 76 to 81. The only teacher I would bother to mention here ( along maybe with DOS and Eager). Brilliant and a source of inspiration. Barry Murphy ( swimmer)

I never had this teacher for class but in just 6 hours of grinds he saved me in Science for the leaving cert, he is sipmly amazing, I reckon he should be up for some award.
I Would not have a degree in electronic engineering if it was'nt for this man. Absolute Legend
the man is an out an out genious a lot of respect for him although a lot nosier than needs to be
I'm in college because of this man. Absolute super star. You learned regardless of wether or not you wanted to. only person who could control my class.
It was great to have a teacher with such dedication. Top notch!
i only had mr roboto for one free class but what a free class that was. I learnt more geography in that class than i did in 3 years with ache!
absolute legend of a teacher... i would have failed physics if it wasnt for him. got me into college and its a physics course. he should be a lecturer in oxford
I had Mr. Cooke from 74-49. He was very young then, but a very good teacher teaching very difficult subjects. Glad to see he continues to inspire his students.
this teacher should be a college professor! iv never had a better teacher, even in college.
Cook was a Saint with me. He put up with allot and gave allot back. He loved his work and had a real interest in his subjects. Great story of the Isle of Wight.
This man is a teaching machine. He churns out mathematical formulae and scientific definitions by the truck-load. He truly is a teaching maestro. Bravo Cookie!
left vincents in 76.this guy was brilliant for me.he could get you to respond through the fear of disappointing him.glad kids today think same gerry grimes
After all the teachers I have had, I still rate this guy as probably the best that I have had. Fair, intelligent with a wickedly dry sense of humour.
Phenomenon - there is no other way to describe the man. Pure genius and easily the best maths teacher I had !
Best / Maths & Science teacher - Never gives up, His effort, helped me go to college. Great Teacher!
Best teacher ever! No exceptions. If people had trouble learning he adapt his teaching style.... never gave up.
This guy was the best. He knew his material backwards and more importantly, he knew how to put it in our heads so that it stuck. I looked forward to his classes
The best teacher I ever had. Highly intelligent, a great communicator
