He was the best teacher I had bar none. His passion for maths was infectious and I still remember him fondly..
He was an inspiration. One of the very few reasons I wanted to go in every day.25yrs later I am giving my children and their friends hon.maths grinds from the knowledge he gave me.still there.RESPECT!
20 years since I last saw the man and he is still an inspiration. The epitome of a truly great teacher. Absolute mastery of his subject and able to teach it with infectious enthuasiasm. DA '89.
a bomb could go off in class and she wouldnt notice!!!
A peerless teacher in De La Salle. Inspirational, devoted and always committed to getting the best out of his students. I wouldn't have achieved half of what I did if it hadn't been for this man.
If it was not for Mr. O'Sullivan, the best maths teacher I ever had (including later in Bolton St.) I would not have developed a genuine interest in Maths & I wouldn't have become an engineer.A legend
I had Pat for only one year (late 70's). Best teacher I ever had. Kind, intelligent, always appreciated effort (right or wrong). Gifted, gifted teacher. A wonderful man. Students: appreciate him.
Inspiration and his classes were like theatre. As formmaster think he even rang my folks to tell them how I was getting on and where I needed to improve. Top man and best teacher.
She taught to those who listened. She was natural, a real person, without ego (unlike the less talented Mr Walshes...). Students talked during her classes, but she always had a certain respect.
Had Pat from 1979 to 1983-By far the best teacher ever to walk in the front gates of Salle. Very logical and clear-takes non nonsense-Should go to the Institute-Would steal the show there, Go on Pat
Great teacher. Used to organise a game of 'charades' (as gaeilge) with the class every friday afternoon. Sound guy, good for a laugh. Always enjoyed his classes.
POS was a fantastic teacher - who else could get into a sweat over maths? Passion and ambition, it felt more like a game or an adventure.
An excellent teacher and mentor. His infectuous passion for the subject gave me the interest to leanr problem solving skills and logic that has proven invaluable to me.
good teacher, really knew his stuff and could bash out a tune one the old tine whistle in his day.
nice guy-i did honours with him and since he left i've gone down to pass which is "all the way over the other side of the street"
i can't imagine a better teacher,i hated maths until his enthusiasm changed that
Pat O'Sullivan (AKA 'POS')was the best teacher I have ever had. He loved the word 'contempt' & we loved it when he said it. A great man & a DLS legend 4ever!!!
One of the best teachers in the school. Genuinely helpful and great at motivating an interst in his subject.
Can't control a class well But if attention is paid she comes accross as an excellent teacher, i enjoy her class.
tough but fair, brilliant at what he loved to do,coudn't praise him highly enough
A gentleman with a God-given talent to teach maths.Best teacher to ever grace the corridors of The Salle.
Boring monotone that goes in one ear and out the other. Can't control class, hard to learn cause of this
truley dedicated to his job. loved teaching. was a great teacher.
The man, the legend. Don't know of him ever handing out punishments but always got the best out of his class. Hero to the common man.
Might learn to control her class. Could be manufacturing a-bombs in there and she wouldnt notice.
The man just demanded respect, there was no room for "operators" and no one would dare! A very nice man who always had time for his students.
What Roy Keane is to united this man is teaching Inspirational. Best teacher I ever had, a real role model.
Nice Lady but couldn't control her class and they took advantage big time - learned very little because of this
If I end up half the teacher he was I will be doing well. A true legend and a genius with gifts on loan from God. A show of hands for who agrees...? ...Amazing!
Pat O'Sullivan(or POS as he was known) was without question, the best Maths Teacher I have ever had - clear, concise and explained why as well as how.
'all bets are off' -Genius and very nice man despite the fact that some of his students 'may as well be helping Louis cut the grass'...
Genuine nice guy..although occasionally 'the fertilzer would hit the fan' and (through clenched teeth) 'all bets were off'!!
very nice man and always had the time to help. Could do with some help on presentation of maths. I studied comp/sci in college and enjoyed the subject a lot.
Found he had little interest in helping those struggling. Brilliant with those who got it.
I had pat 10 years ago. Excellent teacher in his work methods.
One of the best. Long may he teach. Dave Cosgrave(1972)
Classic Pat saying= " Now listen here i will put you through that door and i won't open it ". That say it all folks
