Had him for math during the 90's, his teaching left a lot to be desired, spent more time talking about GAA than teaching.
He had a love for Gaeilge, which is more that a lot of his ignortant students had. An múinteoir!
My claim to fame is that I nicknamed him Basil - not very difficult, I suppose. I still have his 101 sayings that we put together in '83. Classic stuff. A good man.
Took a lot of stick down the years, wasnt a great teacher, but certainly tried, played on his hurling teams, liked the man but wouldnt recommend his abilities in the classroonm
anybody who thinks the like him or he is nice doesnt know him well enough.
Bhí sé go h-iontach. Bhí an meas ag na gaelgóirí air. He was great. The Irish speakers had a lot of respect for him.
I am glad that he is still teaching very nice man, tough but fair.
If Leonard Rossiter was a teacher he would have been Michal "Basil" Frawley. Great interest in Irish and sports.
The nickname was Basil. Was not the most orthodox of teachers but the class was never boring.
Cool but in a weird way. Great person and a great love of the Irish Language.
Up the banner - the man was genuine gentleman. A good, honest and decent man !
