one of the best - you don't come across the likes of Matt don't come too often. A really great teacher and a fnatastic guy too boot !
Had plenty of time for Hons students ..Loved the field trips / 2nd yrs paid for bus .. we enjoyed Guinness ..Legend / misunderstood / Hated Chas .. with good cause !
hero as a man if your not good at irish before you go into his class you dont have a chance
The greatest teacher in the the world. There can be no doubt about that.
He wanted to be young and liked by his students, but he was a so-so teacher, had his favourites and could be real mean piece of work to certain students, especially if it made him more popular.
LEGEND, loved being wierd and hated CHAS so he's a friend of mine
Never learnt a word of Irish from him, but cant say he wasnt a breath of fresh air and the general knowledge quizs in place of teaching were tagreat fun.
Matt was the coolest teacher I ever had and I learned more actual useful Irish from him than from Brother Hermes.
1000 lines....a sound teacher who loved the TOMAS BJORN and asian ladies
Our favourite excess for getting off doing some actual Irish was telling him, we'd to study for an aptitude test the next day!! Legend of a man!!
arnie, you gotta love this guy. brought us on a few memoral trips to knockree. sheets! sheets!
i never had the man but on repertation alone he must of been a real cool guy people like him are sorely missed
A Great man,Meditation was great fun.Irish ? he cant take all the blame, for he knew most of us werent interested in learning Irish.
he really was the main man...... easygoing with a real love of the language.
meditation on a Friday was very helpfull and I still can remember the tapes we use to use of Matt talking Irish, 8 years after my leaving cert.
I had Mr Arnold for Irish back in the day. He was cool and very misunderstood, all these bad reviews are completly unwaranted
Spent more time meditating than teaching - certainly was in a league of his own. Good fun but too eccentric to teach effectively.
