Had "Mam Friend" during the late 70's / early 80's and had my own differences with him and did my fair share of lines ! Thought I was hard done by - but can now apreciate this man's efforts - was one of the few that bothered to come in on Exam day ( Inter / Leaving ) and did care some. Especially now liked the way he protected / supported the runts of the class. Apreciate his efforts !😀
Was a boarder in the 1980's and can rem Maco talking about the poor boarders, but I can't in all conscience agree with the last few comments,c'mon lads was he really that bad, time to build a bridge,yes-no,was very strict and hard yes,but he was a good teacher I got a B in the leavin cert pass in 1987,I liked him.
your ma friend-taught me english in the 80's.He was a good teacher.I thought he was dead on.40 /100 was the highest mark he would give you in a class test, then in the inter cert or leaving cert that 40 would transfer into a B.
If people actually stop and listen to this man they WILL be inspired. Reminds me of the past when people didn't spoonfeed all the time. They expected kids to have some intellectual curiosity. Classact
Only had him for 4th year english. He was impressed when i took in black metal lyrics for a poetry assignment! Slightly mad individual and not the easiest to learn from.
he tinks he`s funni and has bad teachin methods...gunna fail my english leavin!
once came to skool with 2 different shoes on... legend!!! Show don't tell!!
Very intelligent man helped develop a passion for books with me in the Junior cycle. One teacher who really has left a mark on the way I live my life, hopefully positive.
This man taught me how to read. Brilliant teacher. very fair
Not a great teacher sound fella though. Loved the stories kevin english isnt the same without meaningless stories. Still got a c in higher level (GRINDS?????)
Offered no help to me at all during my years with him.Terrible!!Fond of smart sayings like "wasting time is wasting ideas" which he wasted my time as a student.
nonsence is the best word to use when describing this mans teaching
Wall of classroom littered with clichés and psychobabble, none of which he seems to adhere to himself! "Show, don't Tell! No wait; Show AND Tell!". Nonsense.
