Unusually for Belvo in the 1970s; this guy was a very professional, solid teacher. Didn't let his likes or dislikes get in the way. Clear, straight-forward delivery. Stiff, but occasional gentle witticisms.
Joey Dunne is a true top bloke best story ever was his trip on the train with his dad.
He is a very, very good English teacher! He has a tendancy to ramble on though!
super teacher of french. taught me 29 years ago. got an honour due mostly to him. inspired a love of the lang and cultture that has been lifelong.
He was a good laugh but I think he actually forgot to do the teaching bit in many of his classes. He was always on for a chat or some form of random waffling session.
he is a great teacher but he can get angry if you dont hand in your homework in time
Geat laugh, best moment: "eh are you lookin at your phone Brian? (brian)Just checkin the time sir! what time is it then Brian? Eh i dont know sir"
Superb teacher. I loved english classes. Loved our trips to the Abbey. Was like a 2nd form tutor to us. Friendly, Helpful, Very Wise.
Great teacher with a unique way of interupting himself to get to another point... Never lost for words
Brilliant! just rants on and on and loses the plot so easily. good teacher, when he's not making random comments.
teaching ability is very limited, however perhaps the best person for a session ever
doesnt like me.spends way more time reading the paper than actually teaching. obviusly good at french but too lazy to teach it
the great gatsby!! eh get to the back of the class, what a ledgend
Average teacher. Quote"When you are taking your leaving I'll be sitting in a boat fishing in Roscommon laughing, thinking about you in the exam". Charming.
Never liked English bu in 5th and 6th year Joey was a gent. Just mention Joyce to him and you could go to sleep and wake up in June and hed still be going on
what a hero! "eh sorry now is that your schol jumper?" ask him about the time he had a hit and run with a deer!!
Joey is a class act. He taught me all about life through his English classes. I still quote him 10 years after leaving the best school in Ireland.
What a ledgend. best teacher i had in the six years. stories are inspirational. "eh sorry!"
an absloute classic, came out with great quotes, such as,"if you have an egg, lay it, and dont be playing handball with it"
joe dunne is the roy keane of teachers. gruff, a bit annoying but always always a class act.
who dosent love this mans random comments. not a man but a giant
Such a gent the chap is one of a kind, he wrote the book as well(thats gotta count for something)
this teacher feels the need to be too controlling at times
