Top man. Was always interested and fair. One of the best Deans ever. Meet him from time to time and he hasn't changed a bit.
Had him for English Leaving Cert, great man and a great principal, credit to the School
"Tell that to the Marines" was another of his catchphrases. Great teacher, dean and first to treat 13 year olds like men. Character builder.
Genuine, caring, fair. More than a teacher, a character former.
we need this guy back templeogue of old has resufaced no ammout of camaras or cages can keep dis lot in o'brien has lost the plot
his leaving cert english class was brilliant. should have been principal years ago. an absolute gentleman and a class act.
A true inspiration. Tough but fair. I finished before he left but I hear it's not half the place it used to be. Should have made principal sooner.
top bloke, had him as a deane and he got me through the leaving
A role-model for me in a sense. He went to bording school or something thus the hard exterior. Great man, great dean, great principal.
john murphy was a great princeable and displayed all the qualites of a leader, he was tough but fair. a great examplefor the young men of templeogue college.
Good teacher. Great Dean. Wasn't paid enough for the time and effort he put into students.
great teacher knew his stuff and would always catch you out when you were'nt listening and make you feel like an idiot
A fine teacher, and a fine man. I'm certain the school is the poorer since he retired.
as a principal moved the school in the right direction, should possibly give the soccer and gaa talent the same opportunity as the rugby talent. best of luck
Hated him at the time but have fond memories of him now. Picked on me because i was bigger than him (i wasn't the only one). Good teacher, it has to be said.
As a Dean he would always be late for class, but a great English teacher. 1st teacher to deal with us in a mature way.
Mao was tough, but fair. "It's all up a gum tree" still rings in my ears.
i still hear him say jackets in the lockers, tuck your shirt in your slacks, ragball rovers the lot of ye go off to greenhills or mac daras sadly missed (joke)
Take off those fancy shoes you big langer like.boy. never rly understood him,but stern fair and a laugh.small, tiny in fact.
