The man they called 'Nobby.' He was like Medusa. One look from his eyes would freeze yeh to the spot. Mesmerising. Watched over us for one class. Pure Silence. It was a relief when he started reading. Legend!
Probably the best teacher in Vincents. Is he still alive?
Brilliant teacher even if he was a bit scary. He quite humbly told me one day that he only got a D in Chemistry in his own LC. No-one forgets N!
Great teacher once you didn't get on the wrong side of him. Still remember "Richard of York Gave Battle in Vein" Thats from nearly 16 years ago
Very capable teacher. Unnecessarily mean to many students. There was simply no need for many of his antics. A great teacher is one who has equal time for both the gifted and not-so-gifted pupils.
weird, feared and wired; scalped a fella with a duster from twenty feet, but by gawd could he teach. loved his phosphorous expirement
great at getting us to pass tests. was odd in behaviour. picked on students for no reason throughout their time as his student.
Still waiting to be asked what an Isotope is so i can reel of the def( 20 years on)....great teacher... loved the exploding plastic milk bottle trick!!
Had him 25 years ago, only teacher who taught. Did not need new friends so he was highly respected. Top Man
A very bitter and twisted man. Undoubtably a good teacher but an extremely unfriendly guy. He appeared to hate us all. Begs the question as to why he was teaching at all.
The most unapproachable guy you could ever meet. never saw him smile or make any small talk. All he did was take care of business. magnificent teacher despite his chill.
Absolute genius. Never once made a mistake (not ONCE). If you got him or Paul Cooke in Science subjects you were sorted. The rest (except Kiely 98-99) were useless.
That man got me and A in JC science and an A in LC chemistry. I wonder (if he's still alive) if he still uses those old copies of science for the future!
Had him from 1984-88. Was the best teacher in the school.Hope he's still going well
Only had this guy for a free class - he walks in and only says 4 words "Rotate the desks please" - he then proceeds to read the paper - Legendary
During a chemistry exam, I explained an indicator as a car accessory and he marked it correct - got to be a top man
Nobby Lynch, who could forget theman who put us in our place. A teacher of the Ages with doubt. 20 years on I still fear and respect him. Hope he is doing ok.
The best teacher ever in St Vincents. Loved the revision sheets for every chapter of the science book. Pity about the old renault clio he used to drive.
Cool under pressure, Jerrimiah Lynch is a legendary teacher who posesses a wit that was tinderbox dry. A great man.
Brilliant teacher - Probably still using the 1964 version of the Chem book in which he has corrected all the wrong answers.
Ringmaster for the circus of clowns. Experienced his southpaw on several occasions. It was with good cause mind. Good teacher.
Easily one of the best teachers I have ever known. Had him for LC Chemistry and he made it so easy. Will never forget those definitions.
I can still remember my chemistry definitions from first year (20 years on)! One of the handful of good teachers in Vincents! Gordon Shirley
Every teacher should be like Nobby. He even managed a smile once!
was unfair to some students who he took a disliking to. thought well to enable people to pass exams.wierd personality.
Excellent teacher second to none. Odd man but then why wouldnt he be working in vincents - really decent guy overall though and one I remember in a positive lig
Brilliant teacher but a bit odd. Never smiled ONCE. Very hard with the lads but we learnt a lot.To be fair I dont think he liked ANYONE.
