Jim Anderson was simply the most inspirational teacher I had in Jamebo. He got me through Leaving Honours English when O'Hare said I wasn't capable. I can't say I loved school but I loved going to his classes. He loved telling stories and philosophising and we loved to listen. I wish him a long happy life.
One of the greats. I studied at university; taught college level in UK and USA. This guy is a treasure from my past.
He is still the best teacher I ever had ,a true gentleman.
I had him from 1st year to Junior Cert for English, he was great. always remember him as an excellent teacher.
Mr. Anderson was just a really really nice guy. He always treated his students like human beings
Liked to go off on a tangent, and we encouraged him to! A good teacher though
He taught me English from 1965 - 1969. He was a great teacher: kind and funny too. Great to see that he's still here and rated so highly. And he's still Slim Jim!
What a trip. We loved having this guy for a teacher. Class could end up being life lessons and he made going off on a tangent an art form. He still managed to get to the English. We need more like him
If he was there in the 1970's then he was one of the greatest teachers I've ever known. I studied in universities in Dublin, London and New York. He has been a lifelong inspiration.
I SAW MOST OF EUROPE BECAUSE OF THE WORK OF THIS GUY, LONDON, ROME, PARIS, VENICE, BRUSSELS, FRANKFORT ETC ETC, NOT BAD FOR A KID FROM FATIMA FROM A FAMILY OF NINE. A GREAT ENGLISH TEACHER TOO
Thought me Latin to inter cert! Loved the Roman history bit. Sure helped me over the line.
Was a nice guy when in school, got on well with all the students and made an effort to make the subject interesting.
Nice guy - kinda relaxed, hippy-ish, students liked him.
