thought he concentrated on the good students and kinda put down the weaker ones. I still remember the theory of the two heaps of muck tho
Always enjoyed being taught by 'Spud' enormously, inter-cert science and leaving cert physics. Eller rugby too. I'm still a rugby fan 30 years on, and a qualified physicist :-)
I am from Cork and couldnt understand him sometimes! Don't remember being taught by him but he was a fantastic person.
Had him for physics in 2005-06. A genius and a gent. I'm glad I wasn't there to see him leave, because he's a huge part of my memories of the school
had him for physics and applied maths in the 90's. The man is an A1 genius, made maths fun, and loved his dry sense of humour. Loved his students and always tried to get the best out of them.
how could anyone rate him 1 for clarity and helpfulness ? look at yourself !!
Ignore the haters! the man is an absolute legend! I owe my A1 to him, and lots of others do too! i'll never forget eller rugby either!! the man is class!

Without a doubt the best teacher I have had (after 7 years of further education)Taught more than just maths
Mr. Hanley just can't fill his shoes. He was such an incredibly good teacher. Especially the way he didn't make you learn - if you slept, you failed. :)
Fr Canice was a good freshers rugby coach and a mathematical genius to boot. Class was never as boring as it could have been. well missed.

one of the most inspiring teachers I've ever had - maths isn't my strongest point but he made you want to work harder, challenged your perceptions. much missed.
one of the most inspirational and respected teachers to grace the school corridors. had time for every student however gifted at the subject. kind, helpful man!
Possibly the most gifted maths teacher that I have ever had. Has created a love for maths in children for so long that the man has to be respected.
