Had him for JC business over ten years ago. His total lack of control still amazes me. Okay we ran riot but he brought most of the messing on himself. Nice guy outside the school though
couldn't teach to save his life but he's still a legend. every class was fun
nice guy, good laugh, really knows his stuff about business and when you give him a chance and pay attention you learn something. but really needs to put his foot down and show some authority in class
Tries very hard, really knows his stuff, but strays off topic and allows classes to spiral out of control. What a sound man in all fairness though
very nice man.. funny out... can't reli control a class
this man is a geninus at rugby, he was not born to teach and should quit, nice man, cant control a class
Nice guy but not the greatest teacher but I was lucky to be there in the early 80's when he started up the rugby programme again. Was a great time and good people not that Jack Casey cared about rugby
i wonder how this man was allowed to get away with what he got away with: teachers must have been in short supply. he was a joke, his class, everything about him. the worst teacher imaginable.
a joke of a teachr...dosnt no how 2 teach at all nd dosnt care wat u do n is class bt dats gud haha
he really is sound, but wen gets class he starts jokes and it totally backfire.he a rugby legend do
nice man better teacher that he is given credit for. but people cant get iver the nice man part. got me a b1 in the leaving.
The guy is a rugby historian and should get to lecture in college about stand up guy always walked his subjects
doent know how 2 teach at all....and spend all day giving out
He really tries, gets frustrated sometimes and loses his temper, often misunderstood. He is so calm all the time that when someone really annoys him, he really lets it out.
Everything that's wrong with the Education System - why does this man get away with never teaching a thing? Nice man though
This guys a JOKE.Only time he ever drew a diagram to explain something was to explain a rugby strategy.2 yrs of him, hopeless
Spends his time de-grading students while he is really the biggest joke of them all!!! A bad teacher and and a worse rugby coach. Still a handy 40 mins of clas
Great teacher if peolple listened and if people knew his personality thet would realise that he actually has an interest in all students and not just the rugby
i'll never forget the day someone got up walked to the door opened it and when asked he said "excuse me i must strain the spuds"
A great guy, one of the fewyou remember after 20 years and still like to meet
students im my jc geography class have 3 choices 1. listen to him blabber on about rugby 2. sleep or 3. teach themselves.
Theres 40 minutes gone and we still have little to nothing done!
Knew his stuff about Business, funny man,was helpful if u wanted him to be. If the messers in the corner had shut up We'd hav done alot betr in L C.
Q.Sir can we talk about rugby. A.Not till the last five minutes relax and pay attention to Maslows hierarchy of needs. Good man good heart
Nice guy but mediocre teacher, two years of business yet i know nothing but what i've taught myself.
I will never forget Mickey Field walking into class and seeing Dessy explaining A penalty conversion with a graphic chalk board explanation
MORE RATINGS THAN ANY OTHER TEACHER PROVING THAT HE IS A LEGEND. When its fun its fun and when he is teaching if you listen you will actually learn. Weird huh
Can't say enough good things about Des, has an encyclopediac knowledge of the game of rugby and is a whiz at Business, very funny guy... hardcore Legend.
Nice guy, no control, enjoyed his "classes", had to teach myself at home though....
Whats the deal with opening the door when he gets frustrated??!! Cant teach but good for a laugh!!
Dessie,man I thought this guy was gone,he is okay,sound!!
This Man effectively speaking put the foot down on a few occasions and now his classroom has become a utopia of learning.Fresh from da hood and into the classrm
I don't remember him actually *teaching* us anything...
Ledgend of a man in and outside of the classroom. Desmundo's name will be heard echoing in the hall's of ard scoil ris forever.
Des Harty will be written about in the history books. A legend of a teacher
The argey barge that, effectively speaking,is omnipresnt in the classroom makes him a stand-up in his own right.as teaching is concerned...this is true"price"
The most influential and inspiring teacher i had. A man students can relate to. Unafraid to voice his opinion about the autocratic setup in the school. U DA MAN
If I could be any teacher i'd be Sir Desmond Harty. Great Potential, precision pass, etc.
Can't wait to have the money to donate to that school and have something named after him. Can't say enough good things about the guy!
brings a bit of humour to business class.Legend rugby coach
talks about rugby non-stop and insist on trying to embarass people by asking them the meaning of words which he then attempts to spell on the board but cant?!
the school wouldn't be the same without him.has done more for the school than anybody ever has or will
Des's trademark phrase when trying to get back to what he should be teaching "Meanwhile back at the Ranch"
He needs to be given a chance he's bad at controlling a class but given a chance he would teach well However he go's off topic easily we've all seen it happen!
PEOPLE JUST DON'T GIVE THIS GUY A CHANCE, HE IS A LOT BETTER THAN PEOPLE ARE MAKING OUT HERE, THE SCHOOL WOULDN'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM..A LEGEND..
Put it this way if rugby was on the business course i would have got an A1,ArdScoil King of Cool,i had him for 4yrs,ha ha
Legendary Rugby Coach but cannot teach business and should not be allowed teach any class! Good laugh though,
nice guy but definitely should not be allowed teach leaving certs,i've had him since second year and his ability to go right off the point never fails to amaze
Dessie was a top man to teach the business but was always given the lower classes to teach in my time there. A keen rugby coach, I had him in first year.
This man is a legend. There should be a corridor named after him, AHH!
