I learned loads from this man. Fond memories of a fair, intelligent and witty individual. GO RAIBH MILE MAITH AGAT A MHAISTIR!!
Taught us about life. Spent > time on general education (manners, discipline etc) than on English. Strict but fair. Was expelled from class - let me back though! V good poetry & drama teacher. Great insight / knowledge. NB Take notes as little goes on blackboard. Creative writing his 1 weakness.
Well, I'm sure he was great in the day, but these days, he just doesn't really have the spark anymore. He doesn't teach us anything, he just sort of talks about the poems while the whole class messes.
great man: my favourite quotes: "the book or the boat' and "I'll happily do time for you" though he never ever hit any of use , not like some others. Ironically enough I've ended up teaching English in Paris. 'Chapeau' Monsieur Mallaly!
if by the time you finished school you hadn't realised what a legend he was, his genius wit was wasted and you are the moron, or the troglodyte in the words of the man himself
Muinteoir then scoth - caraictéar cheart - ni bheidh a leithéad ann arís - buiochas mór le Dia - Windows of Wonder - Why, lads, why was the man half cracked!
Tough, fair and highly competent. Unusual skills in identifying & drawing out nascent ability & getting underperformers to perform. Sardonic wit used to tremendous effect.
"i tell ya lads it was different in my day, lip like that and id hit ya so hard the blood'd hit the ceiling" a literary genius in his own right
Lookitson, a rat is no fool and neither is mulall. The most inspirational teacher I ever had. Each lesson more enlightening than the last
Listen, son, your going on for that Kangeroo in the corner,Heavan knows why though?
prowled the halls and ruled with an iron fist sorely missed the school is getting soft
Classic quote when student complained he (Mallally) had it in for him:'Lads,I have no favourites in this class,I hate yee all equally',pure legend! 1998!
There'll never be one like him again! He's some man for one man
One of the best teachers I have ever had. (Blian 6 `95)
Cén t-ábhar, cén t-ábhar a mhic?? Oh Mallaly,Mallaly,Mallaly!!! bawk ba bawk!!! What a legend!!!
"ní féidir liom béasa agus bearla a mhúineadh duit ag an am céanna!" laoch.
